Cooking with essential oils can be a good way to incorporate them into your routine and also reap the benefits they offer.
Keep in mind that they will lose their therapeutic benefits when subjected to high heat. However, the flavor still remains! And considering the potency of essential oils, it only takes a couple of drops. MUCH less work if you’re trying to get dinner on the table quick.
A few favorites to cook with are Oregano, Thyme, Rosemary, Basil, Lemon, Ginger, Orange, Peppermint, Lime, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Clove, Nutmeg, and Black Pepper.
People! Think spaghetti sauces, peppermint brownies, orange cinnamon rolls, guac, Chai tea, etc. etc.! The list goes on.
Because of the quality of the oils, they are safe to ingest! Unless otherwise specified. Always check the label on the bottle.
Young Living also has what we call the Vitality line. These oils are labeled as a dietary supplement and look a little different than the regular oils and blends. Today I made Fajitas, lime-cilantro rice, and a yummy jalapeño cilantro sauce. Hashtag drool emoji.
I used fresh lime on the chicken and peppers, but the oil for the rice and sauce! The recipe called for 3 tbls. of lime juice (for the rice). I used 5 drops of oil…because who doesn’t love a good, solid flavor?! 😉
