DIY Natural Make-up Brush Cleaner

So I read about what can be on your makeup brushes.  Go ahead.  Google it.  Prepare to be grossed out. And I realized….I NEVER clean mine.  In fact, I’ve had the same brush for about 5 years.  Winning.  At.  Life.

After getting over how much I disgust myself, I came up with a game plan.

How much cleaner you make depends on how many brushes you want to clean at one time.  I don’t wear a lot of make up so I just had the one powder brush to clean.  But if you have more, just make sure the cleaner covers all of the bristles!

Here’s what I did.  I used Young Living’s Thieves concentrated cleaner, Dr. Bronner’s Castile soap, and water.  You could even get fancy and add lemon, tea tree or purification oils!  Works great either way.

img_2601Thieves Cleaner is AWESOME by the way!  I use it for everything, from countertops, to floors, showers, toilets, and yes, even streak-free mirrors!  Clearly, makeup brush cleaners too.  So versatile!  Just don’t use the makeup brush to clean the toilet 😉

No chemicals and it’s safe to use around kids and pets!  …and it smells like Christmas.  It comes in a concentrated form that you mix one-capful-at-a-time with water and put in a spray bottle.  It lasts forever!  Getcha some.
